Ludovic Lacay opened with a raise to 300,000 from the hijack seat, Steven Begleiter called from the cutoff, Antoine Saout called from the small blind, and Kevin Schaffel also called from the big blind. Buchman Folds to River Shove
Eric Buchman played possum on all streets against Jonathan Tamayo. Buchman, with position, called a raise to 305,000 preflop, a bet of 550,000 on the flop, and another bet of 870,000 on the turn. Andrew Lichtenberger made it 325,000 to go, Joe Cada called from the cutoff, and Darvin Moon called on the button. It was on the flop and Lichtenberger checked to Cada, who bet 400,000. Moon folded, Lichtenberger gave it up, and Cada raked in the pot.

Esfandiari Flop Raise Stops Kopp
Billy Kopp opened with a raise to 300,000 from the hijack seat, Antonio Esfandiari called from the button, and the blinds got out. The flop came . Kopp continued with a bet of 500,000. Esfandiari paused about a half-minute, then slid out two tall stacks of green chips, a bet of 1.9 million total. Kopp contemplated for another half-minute as Esfandiari looked in his direction. Finally Kopp folded. Esfandiari chips up to 5.45 million, while Kopp is still in second place with 14.95 million.

There will not be a woman at the final table of the Main Event this year. After Warren Zackey opened the pot to 350,000 preflop, Leo Margets put all of her chips at risk and shoved all in. Tavelli Doubles through Akenhead
Maybe James Akenhead would have been better served to show up fifteen minutes late insted of just three minutes late. He opened a pot to 260,000, then called when Ian Tavelli reraised to 750,000. On a queen-high flop, , Akenhead checked to Tavelli. Tavelli made it 1.5 million to go and then snap-called when Akenhead moved all in. Akenhead: Tavelli: Akenhead found himself coolered less than fifteen minutes into the day. No help on the turn or river for him. A Tardy Akenhead
Well, cards are in the air just a shade after noon local time. On the outer table all players were in their seats -- except for James Akenhead. Akenhead was conspicuously absent, having not yet made his way into the Amazon Room. His chip bag was opened and dumped onto the table, with his overnight bag tag resting on top of his chips. About three minutes after cards were in the air, he hurriedly made his way into the room and took his seat at the table.
