Sven Survives
In one of the last hands of the night, Dennis Phillips limped, Kenny Hsiung raised to 22,000, then Sven Mol reraised all in for 122,000. Phillips folded, and Hsiung called. Afterwards, Phillips said he'd folded pocket tens.
Mol showed

, and Mol is up to 305,000. Hsiung drops to 292,000.

A Last Hand Double Up for Labbe
Peter Eastgate made it 16,000 to play and Leo Labbe pushed all in for his last 48,000. Action folded back to Eastgate who made the call.

Labbe had a sweat by the turn as the board came

Lacay Counterfeited
After a flop of

, Jon Eaton was all in and called by Ludovic Lacay. Eaton had
for top pair, but Lacay had
for bottom two.
However, the turn and river were both kings --
-- counterfeiting Lacay's hand and giving Eaton the better two pair and the pot. Eaton has 275,000, while Lacay is still up there with 1.7 million.

Tran Runs Into a Set
We join a huge pot in progress at one of the far tables with the flop showing
. The betting action was unclear, but it ended with Mark Ader moving all in for 380,000 total. Kenny Tran was his opponent, and Tran would pause to consider his position carefully before making the call for half of his stack.
Ader tabled
, but Tran wasn't showing just yet. He took the extra time -- another three or four minutes -- to get Ader's count, cut out the call from his stack, and push his own chips in front of Ader before turning over his
, drawing slim. The
on the turn was a great sweat, but the door slammed when the
hit the river.
With that exchange, Ader is all the way up to 895,000, pushing Kenny Tran down to 366,000.

Schwartz Hits Another Double
Marla Schwartz's stack had slowly diminished after her lost double-up through Nick Binger. Down to 68,000, she open-shoved all in preflop. Action folded to Jimmy Tran on the button, who squeezed his cards.
"What do you want me to do?" Tran asked.
"I want you to call," Schwartz replied. "I need to double up."
Call is exactly what Tran did as he tabled
against Schwartz's
. Schwartz paired kings on the flop and never looked back en route to 155,000 in chips.

Hinkle Knocks Out Ottsen
With the flop reading
, David Ottosen checked and Ludovic Lacay bet 27,000. Blair Hinkle made the call before Ottosen check-raised all in for about 70,000 more.
Lacay instantly folded and Hinkle laughed, "You evil man!"
Hinkle thought for a minute before making the call with
and actually having his hand dominating Ottosen's
, the
was to change nothing before the
river ended the short stack's tournament.
Hinkle now is also chipped up at around 1.3 million.

Now They're Just Picking On Him
We just caught the tail end of a hand, but it was at least worth mentioning. J.C. Tran was involved again, and on fourth street, the board showed
. It was a battle of the blinds, and Tran's opponent made a bet of 60,000 which he called. The river brought the
, and the small blind moved all in. Tran thought for just a bit before sending his cards back to the muck, and the small blind couldn't resist flashing his
offsuit as he pulled in the pot.
That's the second time the table has bluffed J.C. Tran in the last few minutes. Chances are good that the third person who tries to do that will be making a mistake.

The Fall of Caesar -- Hellmuth Out
Before the flop, Abraham Mourshaki raised to 22,000 from early position, and Phil Hellmuth flat-called from late position. Jose Manuel Gomez Rebenaque then called from the cutoff, Kenny Hsiung called from the button, and Kevin Jenkins also called from the big blind.
No report if Hellmuth uttered "et tu" or anything similar after all of the callers.
The flop came

. Jenkins pushed all in for 83,000, Mourshaki folded, then Hellmuth reraised all in with his last 110,000. Gomez folded, and Hsiung called.

. King's opponent was the small blind, who had flopped top two pair with
and made the call. King turned up

ElkY Loses Hand
The details are sketchy, (perhaps our reporters were in shock that ElkY actually LOST a hand), but we got the gist of what went down.
Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier was holding
and saw a multi-way flop of

with four opponents where the action was checked around.
The
on the turn was the action card as it gave ElkY a set. He fired out a bet and then called the shove of his opponent who turned over
for the flush.
The river didn't repeat the board and Elky loses a chunk of coin to slip to a more human-like 1.35 million.
Sat, 11 Jul 2009 19:26:28
Brady Out
Matt Brady was just all in for just under 60,000 before the flop with pocket queens, and ran smack into Nichoel Peppe who had pocket kings.
Peppe's hand held up, and Brady has been eliminated. Peppe is now up to 882,000.

Schulman's Late Surge
Catching the action on the turn with the board reading

Schulman tabled

Tran Can't Get Much for His House
Theo Tran opened for 18,000 from under the gun and was called by two players. On a flop of
, Tran's 30,000-chip bet was called by only the button. Both players checked the
turn and the
river, with Tran's
taking down the pot with a full house.
Tran is up to 1,125,000 chips.
