The new relationship between the World Poker Tour and Fox Sports Net seems to have taken another step forward.
The WPT announced today that the two have teamed up to produce a new show that will feature six amateurs playing each week who have qualified online and the branding will be built around ClubWPT.com, the subscription-based online poker room that shares a network with ClubBLUFF.com.
“Poker is the only sport that allows the everyday Joe to go up against the professionals and win life-changing money and celebrity status,” said Steve Lipscomb, WPT Founder, President and CEO. “And we all want to be in that seat, but most of us don’t have the opportunity to invest the time or money to be a pro and play in big casinos games.”
Players will play for cash prizes on the shows that will be hosted by FSN sportscaster Barry Tompkins and “Live at the Bike” announcer Bart Hansen. To add some sizzle to the show former Playboy cover girl Alison Waite will be the show’s hostess.
Players will need to earn their way on the show by playing in “TV Tournaments” on ClubWPT or ClubBLUFF.com. The special tournaments will run six nights per week at 10 pm ET. The TV show will air Sunday afternoons beginning this week at 4 pm local time with an encore at 11 pm.
To qualify for this new show sign-up for ClubBLUFF.com today for a free two-week trial.
