Online poker site Full Tilt Poker is teaming with Monster Energy Drink to raise funds for Injured Riders Fund for Road 2 Recovery with a benefit tournament this Sunday. The organization helps American Motocross Association licensed motocross members with financial assistance if they sustain career-ending injuries.
The buy-in for the event is $5 + $5 with the fee going to the foundation and Monster Energy Drink has pledged to match all donations from this event up to $10,000. The buy-in will generate the prize pool. The tournament is open to any players wishing to help the cause.
“The past couple of years have been especially difficult for industry riders,” said Road 2 Recovery founder Jimmy Button. “Since my own recovery, I’ve dedicated my life to helping professional AMA licensed Motocross and Supercross members sustaining career-ending injuries with financial, motivational, emotional, and spiritual support.”
The field for the event features some Full Tilt red pro players including Andy Bloch, Jeff Madsen, Jennifer Harman, Roy Winston and Marco Traniello. Also putting the pedal to the felt will be Button (BTNFLY), Supercross riders Josh Grant, Grant Langston, and Jason Thomas, along with professional snowboarder and world halfpipe champion Jeff Brushie (SMAKEbreak), Olympic medalist and two-time X-Games champion Ross Powers (powersusa) and professional snowboarder Kris Swierz (WheatSApuff).
