A total of 208 players are through to day 2 of the PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour Macau Main Event at the Grand Waldo Hotel and Casino in Macau.
The prize pool and total number of entrants were confirmed yesterday, with the 538 players chasing HKD $12.643 million (or approximately USD $1.62 million), making this the richest and largest event ever played on Asian soil.
The chip leader is Andre Wagner from Germany, followed by Mark Walsh from Ireland. Play is scheduled for seven one-hour levels on day 2, with two more days of play to come before the three-day HKD $150,000 buy-in APPT High Roller event.
Some of the other players through to day 2 include Quinn Do, Carter Gill, Men “The Master” Nguyen, Lee “Final Table” Nelson, Van Nguyen, Terrence Chan, Nam Le, David Chiu and short-stacked duo Isabelle “No Mercy” Mercier and Joe Hachem.
Some of the players already eliminated are John Phan, Shaun Deeb, defending champion Dinh Le, Steve Sung, J.J. Liu, J.C. Tran, Barry Greenstein, Liz Lieu, Anthony Rivera, Tony Dunst, David Saab, the winner of the recent Asian Poker Tour Macau stop Yevgeniy Timoshenko.
