2008 Main Event Coverage Begins Tonight on ESPN

All the talk in the poker world the past month and a half has been about the November Nine, the final nine players from the 2008 World Series of Poker who will return to the Rio hotel in November to chase the Main Event title and the $9 million first place prize.

Tonight on ESPN (8 pm ET) poker fans will get their first chance to meet some of the November Nine when Main Event coverage begins. This week include two one-hour episodes that focus on Day 1 action and feature Erick LindgrenDaniel Negreanu and Gavin Smith. Comedian Ray Romano will join them at the felt as one of the 6,844 players that made up the field this year.

Coverage of the Main Event on ESPN will continue every Tuesday between now and October 28 for a total of 18 hours of coverage. After this week’s episodes the action will begin at 9 pm ET every week. Viewers will be treated to a one-hour special on the November Nine on November 4 (9 pm ET), just one week before the two hour final table coverage where the 2008 World Champion will be crowned.
