What everybody has been waiting for is finally here! The patriotic poker coalition known as Screaming Eagle Poker is about to make history. What began in a bunker on a small operating base in the 130+ degree heat of Iraq has grown into the biggest internationally recognized poker league throughout the entire military.
Just like poker visionaries Jack Binion, Steve Lipscomb, and Mike Sexton, the founders of Screaming Eagle Poker like to think big: They have seized the opportunity to unite some of the most valuable elements of American society around the poker table, in addition to continuing to help raise money for America’s wounded military and civil service veterans.
With the original members of Screaming Eagle Poker being combat veterans, they know the meaning of sacrifice just like our other noble professionals do - fire fighters, police officers, and paramedics. To bring the best poker players from each of these branches of service together is truly an honor, since they all live by the Screaming Eagle Poker motto: “Willing to die in order to live.”
Mark your calendars! The day league play begins will be a day to remember. With the rivalries already starting to build and anticipation for the start of the league at an all-time high, it is time to represent your branch of service. Register now, because the race for the Inter-Service National Poker Championship begins January 28th!
As indicated by the massive pre-registration within some of the ranks, poker will soon transcend the rivalries of old, such as the police department versus fire department or the always-entertaining Army versus Navy football rivalry. Not only will the Army and Navy have to deal with each other; they now need to worry about all the great players from the Marines, Air Force, National Guard, law enforcement, and fire protection. Whether you’re currently serving or retired, you’re eligible to represent your branch of service. Friends and families of America’s finest are also encouraged to play and have been designated a group of their own as well.
This league play will take place every week at 5PM EST. Since both individual and team standings are kept, as well as thousands of dollars in cash and prizes being given away to the top 200 players, this league is designed to be not only fun but also very competitive and rewarding. And with players’ best 10 out of 12 finishes counting towards their overall season points standing, there is a buffer for those unforeseen circumstances, such as law enforcement or fire emergencies, command meetings, field problems, or deployments.
As the league’s success grows, Screaming Eagle Poker will be one step closer to its overall goal: a televised National Poker Championship that will include the best players from each branch of service. This National Poker Championship will ultimately determine who is the best of the best, and award the winner the title of National Poker Champion.
