A LAS VEGAS WEEKEND WITH JOE HACHEM
Pay for personal attention with a true champ. Joe Hachem is taking 18 participants for an exclusive poker weekend in Las Vegas. Players will stay at Caesars and receive luxe treatment, complete with limo transportation, fine dining, and a night out with Joe at Wynn’s popular nightclub Tryst. But don’t party too hard; the next two days will be full of poker seminars and workshops. Joe will assess each player’s game to identify individual weaknesses and help correct them. If you’re looking to improve your game, and can afford the $9900 price tag – call (702) 387-3889, or visit www.weekendwithjoe.com. (Considering that other poker camps are a third of the price, we dare you to ask Joe if your room comes with a private dancer.)
JENNY MCCARTHY TO DON BUNNY EARS AND DEAL
Remember that dream you had about Jenny McCarthy in the Playboy bunny outfit? Yes, the one that took place in the barn. Well, get your mind out of the gutter and head over to the swank Playboy Club at the Palms, because McCarthy might be dealing you your next bad beat. McCarthy is the first “celebrity bunny dealer” at the Playboy Club, and is dealing blackjack to customers. McCarthy had to go through dealer school to become certified to pull her shift, which took place in early August. No word on when cCarthy’s next shift will be, but the club anticipates more celebrity dealers and the program seems like a hit so far.
POKER TO RETURN TO INDIA IN 2008
Recently it was announced that the Asian Poker Classic will return to the coastal resort town of Goa, India. Last year, 140 players made the trek to India for the $5,000 buy-in event, with Denmark’s Carl Hostrup beating out players like Surinder Sunar, Mel Judah, and Willie Tann to take $320,000 back home to Europe. zThe Asian Poker Classic is India’s first and currently only major poker tournament. The unique location is appealing to many players who have been playing the circuit for years. Poker is really becoming global, and tournament sponsors anticipate a larger field in 2008, with the prize pool easily topping the $1 million guarantee.

DON’T FORGET ABOUT THAT $6.22 YOU HAVE IN NETELLER
The NETeller dramas ended in late July. The e-wallet company announced it would pay $136 million in damages to the U.S. government, admitting it “had operated in the U.S. an unlicensed money transmitting business and had participated in the performance of financial transactions for the purpose of promoting unlawful transactions between internet gambling merchants and persons located in the U.S.” What this means for you and me is that we can cash out our NETeller balances for a period of 90 days. No formal end date has been announced, but we anticipate that the grace period for U.S. customers will expire around the end of October. Bottom line: If you still have money in your NETeller account and you are a U.S. citizen, log in and cash out… today.

The Elite of The Poker World Gathering in London This Month
Most of the top players in the world will be descending upon London this month to play in the first ever WSOP Europe. Three events are on tap, including a three-day £2,500 ($5,000 US Dollars) H.O.R.S.E. event that kicks things off on September 6th at The Casino at The Empire, right in the heart of Leicester Square in London. The Empire will also host the next event, a two-day £5,000 ($10k USD) Pot Limit Omaha Event starting on September 8th. The Main Event, a £10,000 ($20k USD) six-day tournament will be a unique format. Players will gather at three different London area casinos on September 10th, including The Empire, The Sportsman, and Fifty. The fields will play down simultaneously, until the competition merges into one at the Empire on September 13th, where they will play until they have a winner.
WOMEN SET TO JOIN THE PARTY
Party Poker is filming their first “Women’s World Open” poker tournament in London. The 36-player field will play down to a final table of six, which will be filmed at London’s Maidstone Studios. Top women players like Liz Lieu, Shannon Elizabeth, and Jennifer Tilly are invited to the event. The $3,000 buy-in pays the final table, with the winner walking with $50,000. Elizabeth will not only play in the event, but she will handle final table announcing duties – which could get interesting if she makes the final table. The show will air in the UK sometime in the fall.
