2009 Sports Legends Challenge
IImagine… You’re sitting at a televised final table for the fi rst time in your life in a Texas Hold ‘Em event in front of a nationally televised audience… you have an above average chip stack and a good chance to take down a seven fi gure prize. It folds to you in the cutoff and you raise it up with K-suited, only to be re-raised by none other than “Mr. October” himself, Reggie Jackson. Your coach, Phil Hellmuth, looks at Jackson, looks back at your cards and whispers in your ear “We know he plays well in the clutch.” It’s probably a good time to call, take a deep breath and realize that maybe the best part about this tournament isn’t the cash after all; it’s the experience you get by just being there.
For the first time in history, sports fans around the world will have a chance to compete with the biggest Sports Legends including Troy Aikman, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Richard Petty, Sugar Ray Leonard and more. The Legends, alongside participants, will compete in wide-range of tournaments for up to $10 million in cash prizes – all highlighted by a No Limit Texas Hold ‘em tournament nationally televised on FOX Sports.
The Sports Legends Challenge (SLC) will be held September 14-17, 2009 at the worldrenowned Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas. The resort will serve as the backdrop for this world-class gaming event. The culmination of the SLC will be a team format poker tournament titled “The Sports Legends All-Star Poker Challenge” with 25 world famous poker pros including the likes of Phil Hellmuth, Annie Duke, Johnny Chan, and Jamie Gold as team coaches.
