I am curious if anyone knows:  With 30,000 chips to start with,  if someone did not play a hand, would they have survived to play day 2 or would they have been blinded out?
In the main event.

I think you'd get blinded out in round 8? I did the math at some point.

Wouldn't also depend on your table draw? If you're at a table of young fast players you'll blind out faster than at slower more thoughtful or delayed action.
Don't discount the meatball!

Very true, I think I used 40 hands/level (2 hour levels) for my estimate. Although now thinking about it level 8 sounds high.

You would easily make it to sometime late day 2.

I saw on an epsidoe of the WPT from a few years back, when the same question was asked. Being the WPT, normally holds Deepstack ME, they said you would bust sometime within Day 2. Being that they normally start with about 30k in chips.
However the WPT does not have the feild size the WSOP ME does. So therefore by my own thinking, people are not trying to "chip up" as they would in the WSOP.
I think the WSOP ME has a majority of more Aggressive Players then what the WPT ME does.

Would they allow it though?  I have played in a couple of tournaments where they come and take your chips off the table if your not in your seat by round (x).
