i have a few poker pro's on my facebook and sometimes chat with them...i was talkin to one recently (no names) and i asked him if he was going to play dwan heads up...he said dwan is broke. i said i dont believe that for one min, he said that dwan has lost alot of money recently both live and online.
 
tbh i think he's lying, but u never know. even if he has gone broke i'm sure theres a que of people to back him.

Its probably close to being true at least. He's taken a beating lately in the 7game on FTP, losing about $1M the past week or so. Check highstakesdb.com.

I have heard a poker pro or two compliment Dwan by saying that he's was worth between 50 and 60 million by the age of 21, and I've heard these pros say it right in front of him as if it was standard knowledge.  So, I think losing a million or so here or there won't break him.  Obviously, he plays big enough to lose a huge chunk of that in a short time, but playing that big is also how he accumulated that much. 

It seems to me that on the surface Dwan is a good bank roll manager.  And if he is not that great at it I would be willing to bet that most of the older pros that have kinda taken him under their wing have been given him advice about bankroll management.

Dwan's not had a great year online compared to last year, but even so, has he lost even *half* of his profit from '08 yet?

I saw on an Episode of PAD, that Phil Helmuth pretty much told him that, If he doesn't watch it within a year or 2 he will be broke. So who knows.
However he'll get a backer, and be pleying like a wildman again if its true.

He's been playing Isildur1 heads up all night. I stopped counting how much money they had on the table after $2 million.
 
I'm pretty sure he's not broke.

Durrr lost $1.2M to isuldur1 last night in PLO and NLHE action. They're supposed to play tonight. I personally think the edge durrr had to get him where he is is no longer working.

Aaaand... Durrr is the newest official member of Team Full Tilt. Kid is officially a made man now. ;-)
 
 
Not surprising really. Apparently (according to a high stakes rumor site I find is pretty reliable) Ivey leaked this was happening a couple months ago at least. I guess they had some details to iron out in his deal, and I think (my own speculation) they delayed announcing it until after Ivey had played the main event table to not split up their publicity machine.
 
Makes sense for them. Love or hate him, Dwan pulls a ton of people in to watch his games both online and on TV. And the kid is an exciting player.
